Description

Flaky pastry paired with rich caramel-flavored walnut filling-perfect for any occasion!

This recipe uses a store-bought pastry crust because it's easy to use and saves time, and it complements the homemade caramel-flavored walnut filling really well.

 

Ingredients:
  • 1 x 8" pastry case (blind baked)
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
  • 200 milligrams cream
  • salt (a pinch)
  • 1 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)
Instructions
  1. Step 1:

    (Caramel Walnut Filling)

    • In a saucepan heat sugar and water. Stir until sugar is completely dissolved and deep amber in color.
    •  Reduce heat to medium and slowly stir in butter until dissolved.
    • Next, add cream and cook until sauce thickens.  
    • Lastly, add salt and chopped walnuts. Mix. 
  2. Step 2:
    • Pour caramel walnut filling into pre-baked crust and bake at 180C for ten minutes.
    • Allow it to cool completely before removing from tart tin.
    • Serve warm or cold. Enjoy!
