Description

This is the best brownie recipe I've ever tried. They're dense and fudgy in the center, and they're baked entirely from scratch. These brownies are so much better than boxed brownies.

These homemade brownies are the richest, most luscious you'll ever taste. The best feature is that you don't need a mixer to make these, and they only require one bowl!

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Step 1:

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C. Line the bottom and sides of an 8-inch × 8-inch square baking pan using parchment paper, leaving excess on opposite sides to help take out the baked brownies from the pan.

  2. Step 2:

    • Fill a medium saucepan with about 2 inches of water to make a double-boiler. Heat the water just to the point where it's barely simmering.
    • In a medium heat-safe bowl combine chopped chocolate and butter. Stir the mixture occasionally until the mixture has melted.
    • Remove the bowl from heat and add brown sugar and castor sugar. Mix using a whisk for about one minute.

*Add castor and brown sugar while the mixture is still hot. * Do not worry if the mixture is gritty. It will become smooth with the addition of eggs.
  3. Step 3:

After the mixture has cooled slightly, add the eggs one by one, beating well after each addition.

*Beat using a whisk or a beater for complete two minutes. This step will ensure that you'll get crackly top on brownies.
  4. Step 4:

    • Add vanilla extract, baking powder, flour, and cocoa powder. Mix using a spatula, until well-combined.
    • Add chopped chocolate chunks and mix again.
    • Transfer the batter to the prepared pan and bake in preheated oven at 180C for 35-40 minutes or until the skewer comes out with very few crumbs on it.
    • While the brownies are still warm, sprinkle extra chopped chocolate on top.
    • Cool completely before slicing brownies. Enjoy!

    1. Hello. Brown sugar makes the brownies fudgy so I would highly recommend using it. But if you don’t have brown sugar at hand you can substitute it with castor sugar.

  1. What to be mixed with butter in the first step? Dark chocolate or semi sweet? You have mentioned both in ingredients

    1. Ohh sorry! My bad.
You would have to melt dark chocolate with butter and once the batter is prepared add chopped chocolate (semi-sweet) chunks.

  2. Please also tell the, the oven should be on convention mode while baking or off, and both rods on?
